Constance V. Woodbury
March 7, 1920 ~ May 2, 2016 (age 96) 96 Years OldConstance M. (Vos) Woodbury, age 96, of Herrick Street, Beverly, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016. Born on March 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Pieter and Constance (Mees) Vos. Constance came to the United States in 1949 from post war Holland to begin a new life as a nanny in Bethesda, Maryland, where she met her husband, the late Robert Smith Woodbury. She was employed as a health care aide at various nursing homes and was an active volunteer for over 30 years at the former Glover Memorial Hospital in Needham. Constance was an active member of the Dutch American Club and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and needlework. She was the last of her eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Constance M. Woodbury of Plymouth, MA, her grandchildren, Sara DuRoss and husband, Michael, Thomas Bubier and fiancé, Angela Boido, Jonathan Bubier and partner Nikki Bromma, and great-grandchildren, Joseph Michael DuRoss and London Robert Bubier. She was the mother of the late Pieter Vos Woodbury. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing for their professionalism and tender care. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4 Ocean Street, Beverly. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
