Joan B. Wilson
September 27, 1938 ~ November 26, 2016 (age 78) 78 Years OldJoan B. Wilson, 78, of Main Street, Rowley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 26, 2016, with family by her side. She was born in St. Peter’s Bay, Prince Edward Island, Canada, on September 27, 1938, a daughter of the late John F. and Irene (Whitty) Wilson. She was employed for many years as an assembler at Chase-Shawmut/Gould, retiring in 2000. Joan was a member of the Rowley Council on Aging. She enjoyed spending time with family, particularly spending summers on P.E.I. She also enjoyed step dancing, cooking and listening to country and old time Scottish fiddle music. Joan would light up a room with her smile and sense of humor. Joan is survived by a son, Patrick Walsh of Randolph; three brothers, Henry Wilson of Rowley, John Wilson of Westfield, Raymond Wilson and his wife Bernie, of St. Peter’s Bay, P.E.I.; a sister, Irma Barrett of Rowley; three grandsons, Zachary, Jacob and Francis Walsh; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved unconditionally. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Louis Wilson, brother-in-law Daniel Barrett and sister-in-law Clara Wilson. We will always carry Joan’s memory in our hearts. Her funeral will take place from the F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley, on Thursday, December 1st with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church, Rowley. A period of visitation will be held Thursday morning prior to the Mass from 9:30-11:00. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Rowley Council on Aging, 39 Central Street, Rowley, MA 01969 would be appreciated.
