Lew and I were saddened to read of Betty's death and sorry we can't attend her services. She was a wonderful neighbor to us on Middle Road (we are at #210) and patiently allowed our various dogs to visit her house, once having to gently ask us to keep "Pinot" from digging a hole for shade among her shrubs - his favorite spot. When we first moved to Newbury in 1982, Jim was on a hunt for the mile marker to Boston that he was certain was lying hidden somewhere nearby, and we all joined in the search of stonewalls and driveways.
We didn't know Jim well, but were very fond of Betty and send all the family our condolences on the passing of a fine and feisty woman.
