Joseph R. "Joey" Stringfield

Joseph (Joey) Robert Stringfield passed peacefully in the arms of his family on September 7, 2015.

Joey had been a happy healthy little boy until he developed an unknown virus, which quickly turned to a very rare condition known as FIRES, which only affects one child in a million. FIRES is Febrile Induced Refractory Epilepsy Syndrome. It is very resistant to any treatment.

Joey was born on December 12, 2012 to Daniel and Keri Stringfield of Merrimack, NH. He leaves behind his parents, sister Nicole, grandparents, Mary Wilson, Chuck and Rena Karpf, and Norman and Lila Stringfield ; also, many cousins, aunts, uncles , and other relatives.  He will be joining those that have already passed, especially his grampy Bob Wilson.

Joey gave us all a lifetime of love and light in his two and a half years. So many memories of his happiness and love of life will all be shared at his Celebration of Life gathering.  He enjoyed so many things in his short life, cuddling with mom and dad and his “Oley Oley”; spending time with his grandparents ; his dogs Brooklyn and Ookii and cats Foofy, Pookie , and Emma; his special foods “hummus”, tomatoes, and peaches;  and he loved music. His life, his illness, with it’s fight for life, have brought out more love and encouragement than many have in their full adult life.  

When reading to him about what the animals say, he said the pig goes “oint oint”, the duck goes “cack, cack. So sister asked him “What does the mama say? “ He answered with “ I love you”.

His parents will be initiating a non profit in the name TeamJoey, to aid parents of hospitalized children. If you are interested in helping with that effort please follow TeamJoey on the website.

FS Roberts and Son Funeral Home are handling all arrangements. The Celebration of Life gathering is at 14 Independent St, Rowley, MA 01969,  from 10 – 12, and a graveside service with balloon ascension will be in the cemetery immediately following.
