Thelma M. (Burns) Maynard, a lifetime resident of Rowley, MA, died peacefully at High Pointe House Hospice in Haverhill, MA, on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at age 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Maynard Sr. Daughter of the late Roland Leo Burns and Laura M. (Allen) Burns.
She was happiest when playing cards and games with family and winning. Being with family meant the world to her. Thelma was involved in the Grange and Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years. She was a senior volunteer at Tardiff Farm, member of Rowley COA, Senior Pen Pal for Rowley public schools and a Girl Scout Leader. Thelma was a lifelong member of Saint Mary’s Parish.
She was predeceased by 9 siblings; Dorothy, Virginia, Roland, Francis, Marilyn, Roland III, Robert and Donald. She is survived by one brother Richard. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by 4 children; Carol A. Tattan and husband George, Linda Durnell, Charles A. Maynard Jr and wife Gail, and John A Maynard. Grandchildren; Tiffany Awley and husband James, John Tattan and wife Kira, Jay Tattan, Anthony Rapaglia, Alana Morin, Tara Wright and husband David, Brooke Laneau and husband Keith, and Jessica Tucker; 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the current COVID-19, Pandemic and health concerns for our family and friends the Maynard family has decided that the funeral be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Church with burial to follow at Main Street Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Thelma’s memory may be donated and sent to Saint Mary’s Parish, 94 Andover St., Georgetown, MA 01833-0496.
