Stephen J. Zubiel, 41, of Elm Street, Salisbury, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of Stacey (Manter) Zubiel, with whom he shared nearly 16 years of his life. Stephen was born on November 2, 1980, son of Ann Marie (McCullough) Noyes and the late Edward Zubiel.
Extroverted, genuine, and kind, he found his people wherever he worked. From his days teaching rock climbing and working at summer camps, to his award-winning flair bartending days at TGIFriday’s and Boston’s Hard Rock Café, to his decade employed at Bertucci’s, his co-workers were always some of his best friends and a second family.
Once a pitcher on the Triton Regional baseball team, Stephen was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and loved attending minor league games at Hadlock Field in Portland, ME. He enjoyed live music, whether a Led Zeppelin cover band in a dark bar or a day-long indie folk festival on a summer day. His laugh was contagious and its absence is already felt by the many who loved him.
Besides his wife and mother, Stephen is survived by a brother, Edward (Ted) Zubiel and a sister, Amy (Zubiel) Horton, his maternal grandmother Alice Doyle, 10 nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 5-7 p.m., at F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rowley Burial Ground.
