Robert Alan “Bob” Wallis, 73, of Rowley MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
Bob was born March 7, 1949, to Hugh and Virginia (Arabian) Wallis. Bob graduated from Gloucester High School, then attended Northeastern University before serving in the US Navy (Air Anti-Submarine Warfare VS-32) during the Vietnam War. Bob most recently worked for Keolis as Communications Roadmaster for the MBTA Commuter Rail system.
Bob was a longboarding soul surfer and Hobie Cat sailor, a trivia master, and a passionate aficionado of classic automobiles and aircraft. He enjoyed listening to and discussing music of all genres, most especially The Beach Boys. However, his greatest joys in life were his wife, Janet, and their family. Nothing made him more happy than being with his grandchildren, Alison, Henry, Leah, Zelda, and Sloane. He could always be counted on for a laugh or a hug.
Bob is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet (Runci) Wallis of Rowley, MA; son, Joshua Wallis and wife Debra (Dolan) of Malden, MA; daughters, Rebecca (Wallis) and husband John Thomas of Fremont, NH, Rachael (Wallis) and husband John Baglione of South Hadley, MA; brother, Donald Wallis and wife Pauline of Marblehead, MA, along with his grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
God only knows what we’ll be without him.
