Robert Murphy

Robert Alan Murphy, resident of Plaistow, NH, died in his home on October 27th, 2022, at age 74.    “Murph”, as known to most, was born in Lynn MA, graduate of Lynn English High School and Boston University.  A long-time resident of Rowley, MA, Robert is pre-deceased by his father Henry Murphy, mother Margaret (White) Murphy, sister Susan (Murphy) Olcott.

He leaves behind his loving partner Michelle Conte of Plaistow, NH, sons Matthew Murphy (Cambridge, MA) and Brendan Murphy (West Newbury, MA) and daughter Kathleen Murphy (Bradford, MA), former wife Anne (Collins) Murphy, 6 Grandchildren Paul and Euan Murphy, Ava and Gavin Conte, Mason and Ivy Beaulieu, in addition to children-in-law and countless relatives and friends that will all miss him dearly.

Murph was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who was extremely passionate about good music, good food, and most important to him was spending time with family and friends.  He spent his last 45+ years dedicating immeasurable time to his kid’s concerts, sporting events, and activities, yet ALWAYS found time to help anyone in his sphere if they ever needed a helping hand in their life’s events.

He was an avid lover of plants, gardening (often waging season-long battles with various garden vermin), travelling, photography, and cheering on his beloved Boston Celtics.  Murph made lasting impressions on so many through his love of life, sharp sense of humor, and voicing his strong opinions around the things in life that truly matter.  We are grateful for the stories, memories, and laughs that family and friends have shared during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Rowley Veteran’s Association between 12:00PM - 4:00PM.
