Richard M. Hardy

Richard M. Hardy (Mike) 61, of Byfield MA,  passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 14, 2022. 

Mike was born October 8, 1960, to Edward B. Hardy Jr. and Eleanor M. (Griffin) Hardy. For the last 21 years he worked for the Division of Marine Fisheries Shellfish Purification Plant in Newburyport, MA. Mike was an avid fan of NASCAR and football, especially the Patriots, never missing a game. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Family was everything to him. Mike had the biggest heart and cared for everyone who came into his life. Mike was the proudest Papa to his four beautiful grandchildren who he loved with all his heart, Alex, Briana, MJ, and Bailee.

Mike is predeceased by his parents, Edward B. Hardy Jr. and Eleanor M. (Griffin) Hardy of Rowley, MA. He is survived by his wife of 37 wonderful years, Gina M. (Stefanile) Hardy of Byfield, MA; daughters, Amanda R. (Hardy) Schwartz and husband Corey Schwartz of Amesbury MA., Alyssa K. (Hardy) Castine and husband Tim Castine of Byfield, MA; siblings, William Hardy and wife Darlene Hardy of Rowley MA., Julie (Hardy) Perley and husband David Perley of Rowley, MA, Peter Hardy and wife Cheryl Hardy of Rowley, MA, Fay (Hardy) Kelley and husband Ray Kelley of Kingman, AZ, Carol (Hardy) Pike and husband Russell Pike of Salisbury, MA, Edward Hardy III and wife Raylene Hardy of Merrimac, MA., along with many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 4-8 p.m., at F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley MA. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10 a.m., at Saint Mary’s Church, Main Street, Rowley MA.
