Kathy Manzo Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mom Kathy Eunice Lane Manzo, who passed away peacefully on Saturday April 22nd at her home in Haverhill at the age of 68. She will be missed by all who know her. Kathy cherished her family above all else and enjoyed spending time at family gatherings and especially caring for and spending time with her many grandchildren.

Kathy was born on September 29, 1954, in Gloucester, MA, to parents Gladys Sylvia Roberts and Howard L Lane. Kathy was a graduate from Gloucester High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years at both Sea View Nursing Home in Rowley and at Caldwell Nursing Home in Ipswich. Kathy met many coworkers during this time who became lifelong friends. Kathy enjoyed going to casinos and for routine “Dunkin Runs”. Kathy was an avid horror movie fan and especially enjoyed the works of Stephen King and had a passion for decorating for Christmas and Halloween. Kathy loved Chinese food and spending time with her beloved cat Cuddles. Kathy enjoyed music from the 60’s and 70’s and loved Elvis Presley. Kathy could be heard singing along to these tunes from her old station wagons while raising her children.

One of Kathy’s biggest accomplishments in life was losing 100 pounds through the TOPS weight loss program. She was so proud of achieving this goal which she maintained throughout her entire life.

Kathy is survived by her five children, whom she shared with her previous spouse of nearly 30 years Vincent Manzo. Amy Hanson and her husband, Adam of Ipswich, April Caram and her husband, Jason Caram of Rowley, Kelly Hathaway (Sean) of Searsport, ME, Brenda Nico (Paul) of Seabrook, NH, and Vincent Manzo (Joey) of Salisbury. Kathy is predeceased by her beloved infant son James Howard Manzo (Jamie) and her sister-in-law, Aldana R Lane.  She is also survived by several grandchildren, Rhonda, Steven, Brooke, Jacob, Christian, Joseph, Gabrielle, Juliana, Vincent, Hannah and Hope. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Angel who she helped raise. Kathy is also survived by her dear great grandchildren, Lorelai, Hunter, Harlee and Liam. Kathy is also survived by her brothers and sister, Howard L Lane (Debra), Michael T. Lane, Daniel A Lane, (Mary Fay) Sylvia L Newman (Alan), Leslie S Whipple (Rhonda), several nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathy was also predeceased by her mom, Gladys Sylvia Marr by only four days. She will be reunited with her mom and will be buried alongside her son Jamie.

Rest in peace mom you will be forever missed and always remembered.
