Judith "Judy" Tebbetts Obituary

Judith A Tebbetts, age 76, Amesbury resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, November 17, 2019 at Portsmouth Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Disease and other illnesses.

 Born in Ipswich on June 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Ellen “Betty” (Hinkley) Savage. She grew up in Rowley, Mass and graduated from Newburyport High School in 1961. She went on to work at the family business, Savage Seafood, while raising her five children. She also worked 20 years at Lucent Technologies.

Her absolute joy in life was spending time with her family, traveling to Virginia to visit her daughter Lauri, doing word searches, watching Hallmark movies, watching Chronicle with her husband, taking rides along the coast of NH and ME and loved the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years George Tebbetts; her five children, Sue Ellen Nolan and her husband Robert of Amesbury; Robert Tebbetts and his wife Kimberly of Rowley; Melissa Tebbetts of Amesbury; Michael Tebbetts and his fiancé Erica DesRoches of Dover, NH; Lauri Tebbetts DeWitt and her husband Doug of Bedford, NH. Also seven grandchildren: Sean Tebbetts and his wife Olivia, Bryanna Beddeos and her husband Andrew, Connor Tebbetts and his wife Jennifer, Nicole Nolan, Nicole Maniotis, Riley Tebbetts and Riley Maniotis; three great grandchildren: Kirsten, Zoey and Cooper; siblings: Sharon Magee and son Christopher and his daughter Abigali; Ronald Savage and daughter Julie and brother Michael Savage; brother-in-law Arthur Tebbetts, sister-in-law Janet Tebbetts and their daughters Denise Slevoski and her husband Walter, and Tracey Lapre and her husband Rob, sister-in-law Bobbi Tebbetts and her son Robbie Tebbetts, several cousins and great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Robert W. Savage Jr, her brother-inlaw Ronald C. Magee and her sister-in-law Sandra L. Savage and brother-in-law Richard Tebbetts. She is also survived by the beloved family dog Brady.

 The family would like to thank the staff at Port Healthcare Center for their kindness and care over the past several months, Amy Lyons and Jess from VNA of Merrimack Valley for their dedicated therapy services. In addition, the family thanks her dedicated team of providers: Dr. Arthur Rabinowitz, Dr. James Russell, and Dr. Hoai-Nu Vo of Lahey Health for their outstanding care and kindness throughout her illnesses.

At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. There will be a private service on Friday, November 22, 2019.
