John Coppola Obituary

John A. Coppola, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. He was born in Haverhill, MA to Bruno and Dena Coppola.

John was the oldest of three boys and grew up in Haverhill, he attended St. Joseph’s School and studied Industrial Engineering.  As an avid baseball player, John was scouted by the Brooklyn Dodgers in the early 1950’s and enjoyed watching the Red Sox play.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corp., in 1953 and proudly served his country in Korea.  Marrying Joanne (Martel) in 1958, they started their lives together in Haverhill and eventually settled in Rowley, MA, where he was a member of Saint Mary’s Parish. He ran a television repair shop and was active in the community.  John worked for Western Electric /AT&T for 31 years. After retiring and watching his three sons each in their own pursuits of military service, college and family lives, John and Joanne spent many wonderful years at Goose Rocks Beach in Maine, and later at Briny Breezes in Florida. John was always ready for a poker game or a round of golf, and he never met a lottery scratch card he didn’t like.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Joanne of 63 years, sons, John, Michael, and Stephen, two daughters-in-law, six grand-children and many loving family members and friends.
