Herbert (Bill) W. Buckley

Herbert (Bill) W. Buckley, age 77, passed away, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, MA, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. 

He was born in Lynn, MA on November 20, 1944 to Richard J. and Ruth E. (Brodstrom) Buckley.  He grew up in Lynn and Rowley where he attended school and graduated from North Shore Community College in 1976.

He served in the U.S. Navy and retired a Master Chief after 30 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.  He worked at a number of civilian jobs, his most loved and interesting being performing as an extra in many major motion pictures.  He recently retired from working at the Cane Estate in Ipswich, MA.

Bill will be remembered for his quick wit and warm smile.  He loved history and researching his family’s genealogy.  He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and cherished the time he spent with his cat, Sugar.

He was predeceased by his brother Richard J. Buckley, Jr.; sisters Elizabeth Leavitt; and Lea Leavitt.

He is survived by his twin brother, Robert Tyler-Nelson and his wife Jan of Byfield, MA; his brother-in-law Eldredge Leavitt of Salisbury, MA; nephews John Eisele, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; Jim Leavitt of Salisbury, MA; nieces Michelle Moon of Albrightsville, PA; Pam LaPrell of Kingston, NH; and Lori Brasseur of Salisbury, MA; grand-nieces Shyann Moon of Haverhill, MA; Brianna Moon, Leah Elizabeth Hill; and grand-nephew Hayden Harrington.
