Diane N. McCarthy

Diane N. McCarthy, 77, of Hampton Falls, longtime resident Newburyport, MA and Kittery Point, ME, died Wednesday October 16th at Hyder Hospice House surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with MSA.

Diane was born on January 12,1942 to the late Angelo J. and Dorothy J. Gullo and spent most of her childhood in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island NY.

Family is what mattered most to Diane and she cherished every moment with them. She loved being a mom more than anything as well as a grandmother. She adored her beautiful grandchildren and doted on them every chance she got. She was an incredibly artistic woman, phenomenal cook, and had an amazing ability to make every holiday magical. She will always be remember for her infectious smile and humor, kind heart, and beautiful soul. She will be deeply missed.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Thomas M. McCarthy, her children - Kevin McCarthy of Amesbury MA, Brian McCarthy and wife Alison Merowitz of Beverly MA, Devin McCarthy and husband Doug Flanders of Lee NH, and Ryan McCarthy of Boston MA, her 6 grandchildren, her sister Joan Herrington and husband Charles of Palm Beach FL, several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

At Diane's request, the family has chosen a private service.
