Carlene E. Kelly

Carlene E. (Rogers) Kelly, 88, formerly of Rowley, MA, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. She enjoyed a long and wonderful marriage with her late husband Hubert G. Kelly, who she loved and missed dearly after his passing. She was born in Barre Town, Vermont on July 7, 1933, daughter of the late Carleton D. and Gladys (Porter) Rogers.

Carlene graduated from Emerson College with a BA in English (Magna Cum Laude). She was an English Teacher at Saugus High School where she met her husband Hugh Kelly. After raising her 4 sons, she went back to college and became a Registered Nurse. She was employed at the former Amesbury Hospital in Amesbury, MA. Carlene loved her family and spending time with her sisters at her lake house in Vermont. She was proud of her Vermont heritage, tracing her family back to the original settlers of Underhill, Vermont. She loved the theatre, reading, playing bridge with her husband and being with her sons and grandchildren.

Carlene is survived by her sons, Jack and wife Patricia of Byfield, MA; Frederick and wife Denise of East Longmeadow MA; Tom and wife Linda of Woburn, MA and David of Gloucester MA, and grandchildren; Dr. Jessica Kelly, Tyler Kelly, Brandon Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Matthew Kelly, and Jamie Kelly. She is also survived by her sister Linda Bedard of Vermont:
her brother John Rogers of California and many nieces and nephews.
