Bertha C. "Tootie" (Cheney) Cook, 100, a lifelong resident of Rowley, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 4, 2020. She was born on June 15, 1920 in Rowley, MA, daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (Warren) Cheney.

Bertha was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years Leonard D Cook.  They owned and operated the former Cooks IGA Grocery Store and then the former Cooks Package Store in Rowley.

She wanted to throw out the first pitch for her 100th birthday. She loved all her friends at the plantation having cookouts and parties and decorating the hall for the holidays.

She is survived by her son, Jack L. Cook and wife Linda (Eckert) of Rowley; daughter, Donna C. Toto and the late Joseph J Toto of Methuen; a sister, Marian Hegarty of Amesbury; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her 6 brothers and 4 sisters and their spouses and several nieces and nephews.
