Anna F. (Sheehan) Todd of Rowley, beloved sister and aunt, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021. Anna was the widow of Kenneth A. Todd Jr., whom she married in June 1973.
Born at home in Rowley, MA, Anna was the eighth of nine children of Augustine L. & Annie V. (Cotreau) Sheehan. She attended Rowley public schools and was graduated from Ipswich High School in 1944 and Framingham State Teacher’s College in 1948 with a bachelor’s degree in Vocational Household Arts. She taught first at Salem Vocational High School then Salem High School, and retired in 1981 as Head of the Home Economics Department at Triton Regional High School in Byfield, MA.
Anna lovingly cared for her parents until their deaths and hosted many family events at “the farm” in Rowley. She loved being surrounded by family, traveling with Ken and the Shriner’s Aleppo Band, knitting, cooking, sewing, and visiting with her many dear friends.
She is survived by her sister, Ellen (Sheehan) Peabody and her children John Peabody (Patty Musial) and Janet Peabody (Andrew Cody), all of Rowley, and Joyce (Peabody) and Kevin Gallagher of North Attleboro, MA, as well as grand-nieces and nephews Deana (Peabody) and Matthew Ziev, and Margaret, Kathryn, and Daniel Gallagher. There are too many additional nieces, nephews, and cousins to name here, but she loved them all.
In additional to her husband and parents, Anna was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Anthony & Stella Sheehan, Myrtle & Raymond Saunders, Mary & Wilfred DeVarenne, Catherine and Arthur Chase, Edmund & Virginia Sheehan, Daniel & Regina Sheehan, and Robert & Eleanor Sheehan, as well as Ellen’s husband, Edward Peabody.
The family will receive guests on Friday, December 17, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m., in Saint Mary's Church, Main Street, Rowley, a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rowley Burial Ground. At the request of the family masks are required for anyone attending the visitation and/or funeral.
