Thomas E. Baxter, 41, of Rowley, passed away May 20, 2018 surrounded by his family after a brief yet brave battle with liver disease.
Tom is the son of the late Charles E. 'Buddy' Baxter and survived by his mother, Sara A. (Bannon) Baxter both of Rowley. Tom is also survived by his two daughters, Jasmine Baxter, 19 and Kimberly Baxter, 16 of Rowley, MA; Ex-wife and friend, Courtney Atkinson; sisters Tammy Nelson and her husband, Paul Nelson of Middleton, RI; Bonnie Lybarger and her husband, Rodney of Foster, R.I.; Sara April Baxter of Rowley; his nephews and nieces: Sawyer Nelson and Carrigan Nelson of Middleton, RI; Warren Moniz of Foster, RI; Nicholas Baxter of Amesbury, MA; Fiona April Ricker of Rowley, MA and also many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Tom is pre-deceased by his brother Charles E. “Bud” Baxter.
Tom was adventurous and spontaneous. He would always be the first one to suggest a random road trip and would easily convince anyone around him to go along. He loved science and technology and when he was young, drove his family crazy taking things apart just to figure out how they worked. Tom was always happiest when surrounded by friends and family. Whether it be the special game nights he so cherished with his daughters and family or the many bon fires held at Vinton Lane laughing and being with friends, he really enjoyed spending time with the people he loved.
Tom spent most of his life as a crane operator and began his career at the age of 18 as a member of IUOE, Local 4. He always worked with heavy equipment and worked mostly Marine construction in the Boston area and much of the East Coast. Being an operator was his passion though, he was most comfortable in the seat. It was the finesse he had to operate that his father was so proud of.
A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held at his family home, 1 Vinton Lane, Rowley MA, on Saturday, June 2, 2018 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Baxter Family invites all friends and family to join them and remember Tom. Please contact his sister, Sara April Baxter regarding his Celebration.
