My condolences to the Nelson Family.  I remember Sela as a young girl, when she lived with her parents (my favorite aunt and uncle) on the West coast.  She was a sweet and caring person.  It saddened me when the family moved to the East coast.

Sela was a  remarkable lady whose many accomplishments were matched only by her loving, patient personality.  I knew Sela from the time she and Gene were married; albeit only in brief encounters due to living in different parts of the country.  She always loved learning and teaching whether it was in academics, culinary skills, beauties and wonders of nature, or in the pursuit of tolerance and faith for all she knew.  She will be missed by many.  Love and sympathy to her family from all the Creek family.

Dr. Nelson was my German teacher during my time at Pope John XXIII HS. She was not only a teacher, but an amazing woman who instilled in me a lifelong love of languages. I still remember sitting in her class as if it were yesterday, attending a performance of The Magic Flute and Die Fledermaus with my class, enjoying learning about history and culture. She will be dearly missed. Love,
Rachel Brune and Family

I knew Sela briefly at the Encore program at the Newburyport Y.  She wore a t-shirt printed with Latin declensions (at least that's what I remember being on the t-shirt). The shirt made me want to know more about the woman and I was pleased to find I enjoyed the woman as much as I did what she wore.  Even as the slightest acquaintance I feel someone special is gone.  My sympathy goes to you who have lost someone well  known and loved.

Our deepest sympathy to family and friends. As a distant cousin I knew little of Sela other than what was shared by my mother (Roberta Davis) and my aunts and I had occasion to meet her only a couple of times at family reunions. What little I knew of her was that she was a fascinating, caring and vital individual. Please know that we share your loss.

Farewell, cousin Sela.  I will miss you, as will all your Parker cousins.  I am blessed to have known you.
