Sandra L. (Knight) Savage, 66, of Rowley, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the Lahey Hospital Medical Center in Burlington. She was the devoted wife of Ronald W. Savage with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in February.
She was born on December 8, 1951 in Newburyport, MA, the daughter of the late Urban and Anna (Bichok) Knight. She was a resident of Rowley for most of her life and a graduate of Newburyport High School.
Sandra was an avid beach lover. There was not a beach she did not enjoy. She especially loved spending time in Aruba, St. Maarten, Cranes Beach and Plum Island. While spending time at Plum Island, she and her husband loved to chat with the folks who were coming and going from the Captain’s Lady’s Fishing Fleet.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Savage of Rowley; her sister, Linda Knight and her companion Ric Littlefield both of Newbury; two sisters-in-law, Judith Tebbetts and her husband, George of Amesbury and Sharon Magee of Rowley; brother-in-law, Michael Savage of Rowley; two aunts, Janet Short and Georgia Twomey and her husband, Edward all of Newburyport. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their thanks to all the doctors and staff at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center for the wonderful care Sandy received. They would also like to give a very special thank you to Jen at Lahey for the undivided attention and exceptional care she provided for Sandy during her last weeks at Lahey.
The Services for Sandra will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Sandra’s name to the American Liver Foundation, 188 Needham Street, Newton, MA 02481.
