Roy A. Ricker, Sr., 68, of Daniels Road, Rowley, MA, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Newburyport, MA, son of M. Elizabeth (Miller) Ricker the late Howard A. Ricker, Jr. Roy was the husband of the late Cheryl (Dunn) Ricker.
He was a life-long trucker and formerly owned and operated his own business. He was formerly employed at Bentley’s and Sam’s Companies and Picariello Construction.
Roy was a forty-year member of John T. Heard Lodge, having served as Master Mason. He was a member of the East Coast Antique Tracker Club, the Million Mile Club, and was a volunteer fire fighter with the Rowley Fire Department. He was an avid NASCAR race fan.
Besides his mother, he survived by a son, Roy A. Ricker, Jr., of Rowley; a daughter, Barbara V. Ricker Surpitski of Newton, NH; two sisters, Nancy E. Cashman-Reed of Rowley and Debra Ricker of Danvers; three grandchildren, Ryan Schrader, Fiona Ricker and Jaden Surpitski; several nieces, nephews and a fiancé Joni Soffron . He was predeceased by his brother, Scott A. Ricker.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. Calling hours on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
