Robert J. DeAlmeida Sr, 72, a resident of Rowley for many years, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Linda J. (Harmon) DeAlmeida with whom he shared fifty-one years of marriage.
He was born on March 24, 1947 in Peabody, MA, the son of the late Joseph and Constance (Anderson) DeAlmeida. He attended Peabody High School and was employed for forty years as a truck driver for Waste Management Company.
Bob enjoyed family outings, boating and racing at Star Speedway. He owned the 18 Street Stock for years. He was a beloved mentor to the 78 Street Stock and the 7 Six Shooter. He was affectionately known as the “Boss” at the Speedway.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Melinda J. DeAlmeida and Robert J. DeAlmeida, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; six grandchildren, Savhanna, Cristiane, Adriana, Kyle, Paige and Brayden; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alassandra; one sister, Maria Perry. He was predeceased by his grandson, Jonathan who shared his love of racing.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to The Danielle Yagjian Foundation, 200 Boxford Road, Rowley MA 01969.
