Jennifer J. Valianti, 56, formerly of Marlborough, Massachusetts and Atlanta, Georgia.

Jennifer J. Valianti passed away peacefully on March 7, 2018 surrounded by her beloved family and best friend, Francine White. A talented and brilliant lawyer, she was a strong woman who battled a debilitating illness with dignity and grace.

Born in Marlborough, Massachusetts to her late parents Kathlyn Washburn McFarland and Frank Valianti, she was a National Honors Society graduate from Marlborough High School Class of 1979 followed by Boston University, B.A., cum laude in 1983, Junior Year Abroad in Angers, France and Georgetown University Law Center, J.D., cum laude in 1988.

Jennifer embarked on a successful legal career first as a Paralegal at Sherman & Sterling in NYC and from 1988-1993 as a Litigation Assistant at Bingham, Dana in Boston. She subsequently was Assistant District Attorney, Essex County and then Managing Attorney at Legal Assistance Corporation in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Jennifer relocated with her young sons to Atlanta, Georgia and devoted herself to family, community and political and social justice issues. A life-long Democrat, activist and lover of French culture and art, Jennifer traveled widely and introduced her sons to European and American history and culture.

Left to cherish her memory and legacy are her two sons, Calvin Nickelson of Providence, R.I. and Nathaniel Nickelson of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her nine brothers and sisters, Deborah Valianti of Brighton, MA, Cynthia Valianti Corbett of London, England, Kathlyn Valianti of Magnolia, MA, Carmel Valianti of Ipswich, MA, Joe Rama Valianti of Beverly, MA, Leslie Arnold of Andover, MA, Francis Valianti of Rockport, MA, John Valianti of Marshfield, MA, Daniel Valianti of Newbury, MA and many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and dear friends.

 Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Linebrook Parish Church, 391 Linebrook Road, Ipswich, MA. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the F.S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer Valianti's name may be made to Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Danvers, MA 01923.
