Charles E. “Bud” Baxter, 44, passed away Monday, January 08, 2018 at Anna Jacques Hospital after a long, complicated struggle with diabetes and renal failure.

Bud is the son of the late Charles E. ‘Buddy’ Baxter and survived by his mother Sara A. (Bannon) Baxter both of Rowley, MA. Bud is also survived by his two sons, Nicholas Charles Baxter and Charles Hayden (Baxter) McIlvaine; ex-wife and friend Kerry-Drew Baxter; sisters and brother; Tammy Nelson and her husband Paul Nelson of Middleton, RI; Bonnie Lybarger and her husband Rodney of Foster, RI; Thomas Baxter of Rowley, MA; Sara April Baxter of Rowley, MA;  his nephews and nieces: Sawyer Nelson and Carrigan Nelson of Middleton, RI; Warren Moniz of Foster, RI; Jasmine Baxter and Kimberly Baxter of Rowley, MA; Fiona April Ricker of Rowley, MA and also many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Bud was a Veteran of the Armed Forces Air National Guard. He was trained in Communications and Navigation and trained in Biloxi, MS. He graduated at the top of his class and was later stationed with Pease AFNG in Portsmouth, NH.

Bud’s passion for life, knowledge and adventure was obvious to everyone who knew him.  Starting a young age, he was an avid dirt bike rider along with many other friends in the Rowley area; he enjoyed adventures and white-water rafting trips with Fred and Brice Hardy, Kerry Drew-Baxter and their close friends of those youthful times. He was the best Dungeon Master around and hosted many, weekly D&D game nights at the house. His friends would play based on the intricate story lines he created from his immeasurable imagination. He also enjoyed playing paintball and participated in many tournaments.

Bud was a heavy-equipment mechanic and worked most of his life in the Marine Construction industry in the Boston area and worked in LA with his brother, Tom, after hurricane Katrina.

Bud was fascinated by all things science and space related. He loved reading about the universe and could talk for hours about String Theory or dark matter. Many of us have heard Bud’s own Black Hole theory as well. His thirst for knowledge on such things was as infinite as the universe itself.

We will host a Celebration of Life for Bud on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Rowley Veterans Association, (function hall) 19 Bradford St, Rowley, MA 01969 from 4:00 -9:00 pm. Please join our Family and Friends as we remember Bud and celebrate his life and all that he was.  Flowers may be delivered to the RVA at 19 Bradford St, Rowley, MA 01969.

Thank you for your love and support at this time.      The Baxter Family
