Therese LeBel Obituary

Therese (Tere) Christine LeBel, most affectionately known by many as “Memé,” was 92, of Rowley, MA, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2023. Tere was born on March 30,1931, in Peabody, MA, and was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Anna C. Belanger.  Tere was also preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Donald R. LeBel of Rowley, MA.

Tere, was a graduate from Salem High School, and a devoted wife and a loving mother of four children. She worked alongside her husband as they did whatever was needed to help provide for their family. They owned and operated “Don & Tere’s” restaurant on Essex Street in Salem, MA. She was employed at Sylvania in Danvers, MA; a Switchboard Operator in Salem, MA; and will be affectionately remembered by so many as their School Bus Driver having driven locally for twenty-five years. But without question her sincere love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren made it clear that her love for her family was by far the most important thing.

The legacy she leaves is when they moved to the Town of Rowley in 1959 and rebuilt a little four room rustic camp into the property and home where we all grew up knowing the sacrifices they made for their family. It’s their dedication to a dream which gave each of us our start in life. Teaching us how with hard work and perseverance that Faith, Hope and the Love of family are everything.

Tere is survived by her eldest son, Donald R. LeBel, and his wife Lisa; her loving daughter, Sylvia LeBel-Consigli, and her husband Jack; her second son Steven D. LeBel, and his wife Michelle; and her youngest son, Richard D. LeBel, and his wife Melissa. “Memé” as she was known by so many, will be deeply missed by her ten Grandchildren, Chelsea, Jesse, Derik, and Gavin; Erin, Joe, and Robyn; Laura; Jennifer and Nicole; and her twenty-one Great Grandchildren, Richard and Faith, Jaden and Julian, Derik, Sophia, Alexandria, and Lily, and Louisa; Jackson and Connor; Olivia; Caroline, Allison and Maddie; Thomas, Patrick, Siobhan, and James; Claire; and Miles; and her long time dear companion Alex Korpusik, as well as Paige Callard and her husband Rick, Mark Shippie, her many other friends and family.

May she finally be reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her and find rest and eternal peace for her soul. May our memories of her love be a source of comfort and strength to all who knew and loved her.
