ROWLEY: Edward John Flood, "Jack",72, of Rowley passed away Friday morning at the Brigham and Women's
Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara Jane Flood.
Jack was born in Everett, May 2, 1938 son of the late Edward James and Marie(Dunlee) Flood.
Jack joined the U.S. Army from 1957 -1959 and served as an Army Reservest for the next 17 years.
Among his many accomplishments, Jack was a Firefighter and member of the Chelsea Fire Dept.
following his retirement from the Fire Department, he worked for the Rowley Council on Aging and was a friend to many.
He was a dedicated family man and was especially close to his granddaughter Fiona Noelle Flood. Jack enjoyed camping with his family and friends in New Hampshire. He was an avid reader and history buff.
In addition to his wife, Barbara Jane Flood, he is survived by his daughter Kathleen Jane Flood of Rowley; his son
and daughter-in-law, Edward James and Holly Rose Flood of Georgetown; his brother Francis Flood of Saugus; sister Anne MacFarlane of Revere; and beloved nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved granddaughter, Fiona Noelle Flood of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Friends of the Rowley Council on Aging, 39 Central Street, Rowley, MA 01969.
