TOPSFIELD: Geraldine "Gerry" (Murray) Colleran, 84, of Topsfield, passed away at the Kaplan House in Danvers, early Sunday morning. She was the widow of Edward James Colleran, who died in 1989.
Gerry was born August 28, 1925, in New York City, NY, to the late Gordon and Helen (Carney) Murray.
Her life was centered on being a homemaker to her husband and their six children.
Geraldine was active in bowling and belonged to a bowling league. She was involved with AA as a volunteer in the Topsfield area; she also volunteered at a Topsfield consignment shop.
Gerry was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves four children, Lawrence J. Colleran of Beverly; Atty. Matthew G. Colleran of Rowley; Keith J. Colleran of Salem; and Jane Shanley of Billerica. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Phillip Colleran of Billerica and Atty. Neil F. Colleran of Arlington.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 10:00 AM in St. Rose Of Lima Church, 17 Prospect Street, Topsfield. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. A period of visitation will be held Wednesday evening 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the F. S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. |
