ROCHESTER,NH: Patricia A. (Peck) Hardy died on April 23, 2012, with her family by her side.
She was born on August 17th, 1925 in Cambridge, MA.
Pat had childhood memories of skating at Fenway Park, riding the T, and visiting the theatre district.
She was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1944, where she met her husband Robert R. Hardy, whom she married in 1946. Pat and Bob traveled across country to California before settling in Rowley, MA where they raised their family.
She worked at Cable Memorial Hospital as a dietary aid and in later years worked at The Cheesecake Company in Newburyport, MA and Port Rehab. She loved to shop, garden in the backyard, and entertain at the pool with friends and family, regardless of the time of day. Pat’s friends and family will miss the constant stream of cards and notes she was so faithful in writing.
Pat, young at heart, thrived in the company of her grandchildren and their friends.
She will always be remembered for her generosity and bright spirit during the holidays.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Bob Hardy. She is survived by her five children, David, Deborah, Diane and her husband James, Douglas, and Donald.
She loved all children especially her grandchildren, Jessica and Michelle Erhard, Garrett, Megan, Christian, and Cameron Hardy; as well as her special great-granddaughter, Isabella Michelle Erhard.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law Frances Carey and Ginny Olsen as well as many nieces and nephews who have loved “Aunt Pat”.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her calling hours at the F. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St. Rowley, MA on Friday, April 27th, 2012 from 11:00am-12:45pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Dear Doug and family, I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Mrs. Hardy. I am sure you have been through a very rough time and I feel bad that you have been going through it. Mrs. Hardy was always so nice and bubbly - always kind to me when I would call Hardy on the phone in high school or go pick him up for some Homecoming event - or all of the other things we were up to. A wonderful lady....

Dear Doug and Family - Our families have known each other for 45 years and lived next to each other for over 25 of them. I have so many great memories of your Mom that I'd need to write a book to include them all! One, though, that stands out in my mind is this: Your Mom driving me, you and Don to Pine Grove School one rainy morning so we wouldn't have to walk. We all hopped in the blue car, I think your Mom called it "Mable" and off we went. As she rounded the corner at the Morse's house, one of the doors flew open and out went either you or Don (of course, we didn't wear seatbelts back then). Your Mom yelled and reached over and grabbed you with one hand and without driving off the road, managed to pull you back in! I'm not completely clear what happened next, but I think your Mom pulled over and made us get out and walk the rest of the way! Just one of our many adventures! I'm so glad that I got to spend time with your Mom at the pool the last few summers, enjoying the summer sun that she loved so much and talking about all the latest news of people in our hometown. Great times, great friends. I will miss her.

Diane, Jim and family ... so very sorry to learn of your beloved Mom's passing. She was a wonderful, outgoing, very happy person, with a warm and upbeat personality. Will always remember how she was with us that Saturday, September 3 by the pool at your house ... she had us rolling over with laughter. Hope the many cherished memories you have of those very special times with your dearest Mom will help ease the sorrow in your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Hardy Family,
Thanks to Doug''s persistence, he found me through Heather on Facebook. We remember our Rowley years more fondly than any others and will miss this dear lady who was such a joy to have for a friend. The last years, we have really enjoyed her chatty cards and news of old friends. You all have so many wonderful memories of your mom, I know. Our sympathy and prayers go to you all. We''re sorry we didn''t know sooner so we could have attended the service, but than are glad we can add our note here.
