Mary P. (Clausnitzer) Peabody

Lynn, MA: Mary P. (Clausnitzer) Peabody, 80, of Lynn, passed away peacefully at her home in Lynn, Monday evening, September 7, 2015. She was the widow of Douglas Savage and of Robert Peabody.

Mary was born in Methuen, June 5, 1935 to her late parents Alfred E. H. and Doris (Hardy) Clausnitzer.

She graduated from Groveland High School class of 1953. She was the class president and captain of the basketball team at the high school.

Mary loved playing bingo and card games, as well as, having a love of country music.

During her working career she was a bookkeeping clerk, having worked for the Town of Rowley Collector's Office and was a former secretary for the Rowley Selectman. Her retirement was from the Lynnfield Water District.

She is survived by her three sons, Douglas Alan Savage,Jr. of Lynn, John A. Savage of Lynn and Kenneth E. Savage and his wife Sara of Winchendon,MA; two grandchildren, Nora Savage and Charlie Savage, both of Winchendon, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Walter Clausnitzer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11,2015 at 10:00AM at the first Congregational Church, Main Street, Rowley. Burial will follow in the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley .A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10th, 5-8PM at the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
