Marion (Williams) Roberts, 96, a long-time Rowley resident, passed away at Port Health Care in Newburyport on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  She was the wife of the late Frank S. Roberts, who passed away in 2006.

Marion was born on July 24, 1920 in Georgetown, to her late parents, Ralph T. and Eda L. (Parratt) Williams.

She grew up in Georgetown, graduating from Perley High School.  She married her high school sweetheart and before World War II they settled in Rowley, where she helped Frank with establishing the second of the Roberts Funeral Homes, in Rowley, in addition to the funeral home in Georgetown.

Marion retired after many years at Maguries-Bradford, in Bradford, MA, where she was a buyer and worked in sales in the children’s department.  She was employed as secretary for the Town of Rowley Light Department in the 1950’s. Marion also sold Avon products and was able to purchase a summer home on Plum Island, which was named “Avon”.

She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 176, in Georgetown, serving as Worthy Matron and other points on the star.

Marion was a beautiful woman inside and out; she was known for her hospitality and fun loving spirit.  She will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by her son, David W. Roberts and his wife, Gidget (formerly of Rowley) now residing in Florida and Maine; her daughter, Sharon A. Emery of Rowley. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Mark Emery, Heidi Pinette, Eric Roberts, Lisa Roberts and Joshua Roberts, as well as 9 great-grandchildren, Shawn, Ashley, Kayla, Jacob, Liam, Caleb, Hannah, Ethan and Madeleine.  She was predeceased by her brother Edward G. Williams and her son-in-law, Raymond L. Emery, Jr.

Funeral Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, Main Street, Rowley, on Monday, December 5th at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Main Street Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, P. O. Box 364, Rowley, MA 01969 or Rowley Volunteer Fire Protection Assn., Inc., P. O. Box 281, Rowley, MA 01969.
