Frank E. McCrady

Frank Eugene McCrady, 95, of Byfield, passed away on January 8, 2017 at Avita of Newburyport, MA.  Frank was born and raised in Indianapolis, and graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN with degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering.  He was highly sought after for his expertise in plastics, and was recruited to conduct research and development with companies in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Montreal, Canada, prior to his final position with Borden, Inc. in Haverhill MA. He was an excellent cook and baker, upholstered furniture and made curtains, had beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and was a talented photographer who developed his own pictures. He was a passionate skier, loved to sunbathe, enjoyed a good scotch, loved sports cars, and was quick with a good story or pun for any occasion. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Julia and Harry; Fran, his beloved wife of 62 years; and his brother Harry and sister JoEllen.  He is survived by his children, Merrill (Maria) McCrady, Dennis (Barbara) McCrady, Kimberly (Terry) Osmonson, and Vanessa (Gary) Russell; his grandchildren Allison (Andy) Sadlowski, Kelly McCrady, Eric (Kari) McCrady, and Mark (Linda) McCrady; and his great-grandchildren, Lucas and Logan Sadlowski; Finnegan McCrady; and Jackson and Jamison McCrady. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St., Rowley.
