NEWMARKET,NH: Donald F. Tucker, 74, of Newmarket, NH, passed away on October 5, 2015 at the Atria Merrimack Place in Newburyport.

Donald was born in Lynn, MA on December 31, 1940, son of the late George M. and Phyllis E. (Chamberlain) Tucker.

Donald is survived by his children; sons, Donald M. Tucker and Timothy J. Tucker and his daughter Karen T. Tucker  her fiance Scott Bateman and his girlfriend Kandy Copello. He also leaves his brothers, Barry P. Tucker and John J. Tucker and his wife Carol, as well as a grandson, Jonathan Tucker and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother George Tucker.

This is a quote written by his grandson, Jonathan Tucker: "My grandfather, Donald F. Tucker, passed away this Monday at 74 years old surrounded by those he loved. For the past 7 years of his life he had been battling bone cancer, but no one told him it seemed. For as long as he could he was keeping his business running, going overseas and across the country meeting with clients, and when he was home he was working on his property. He truly had a tremendous work ethic, and my childhood is filled with memories of us splitting wood, repairing the trailer, and other projects, bonding over the hard day’s work. Coming from a humble neighborhood in Lynn he went on to represent leather companies still in business today, Oh and he sure would let you know about it too. Although he could talk your ear off at times, I always learned something, and I always cherished the talks I had with my grandfather. Oftentimes in his truck with his wonderful dog Jesse breathing down the back of my neck, taking some strange way home that he insisted was faster. During his last years he had a girlfriend Kandy, who loved and supported him throughout his ordeal, and during his last year they went on a vacation to Italy that they had wanted to do for some time. He couldn’t stop talking about that trip even after they got back and I am very glad that in the end he truly enjoyed himself and was happy. My grandfather will always be missed by everyone in the family, for his rambling stories, for his sense of humor, for his flaws, for his kindness, for everything."

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
