Barbara A. Barrett, 56, of Rowley, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 with family and loved ones by her side.  Born in Newburyport, MA, on December 3, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Daniel G. Barrett and Catherine Irma (Wilson) Barrett.

Barbara attended Rowley Public Schools, graduated from Triton Regional High School, Class of 1978, and graduated from North Shore Community College in 1980. Barbara was employed as a marketing communications specialist at Strem Chemicals, Inc. in Newburyport for nearly thirty years.

Barbara enjoyed attending concerts and spending time with family and friends.  Barbie, as she was affectionately known by her family, possessed many talents including baking, sewing, and quilt making.  She lovingly made quilts for each of her nieces and nephews, who to this day, still have them in their possession; a true tribute to how much Barbie’s work of love means to them.  She was truly the most caring and thoughtful person you would ever meet – dropping everything to aid a family member or friend.

With broken hearts, she is survived by her mother, Irma; two brothers, John Barrett of Rowley, Joseph Barrett of Epping, NH; a sister, Kathryn Haley of Newbury; nieces and nephews, Danielle and Nicole Perley, Cebastian and Mercedes Barrett, McKenzie Boatright, Danny Barrett and Matthew Haley and her brother-in-law Danny Perley of Rowley.  She also leaves her dear friend and companion Fred Fowler.  Barb was predeceased by her sister Ellen Perley and brother-in-law Myles “Chip” Haley.  She is also survived by a grandnephew and niece; an aunt, uncles and several cousins.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the F. S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, Rowley. Burial will be in the Main Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://giving.massgeneral.org/cancer/donate/ or http://missionk9rescue.org/donations-to-mission-k9-rescue/.
